Handmade Journals
I made some journals awhile back and now I’m finally getting around to share them with you.
I always distress the pages and I really like the effect. It helps the journal to look thicker and you’re not constantly struggling with separating the pages one from the next.
This time around I was on a tight schedule and had a real hard time with inspiration coming in. This is partly the reason I’ve delayed posting them…arrggg…just because I wish I had been more inspired…and I’m not at all entirely happy with the way they turned out.
Anyways…they’re done and this is how they turned out…

FeedBlitz Replaces my FeedBurner
***IMPORTANT UPDATE***
Once again I apologize for the inconvenience.
I’ve been having some issues with my FeedBurner account for sometime and I made the switch to FeedBlitz. I did a little research on what to use instead and read some really good reports on FeedBlitz.
I was a little frazzled when I did this and just went ahead and COMPLETELY DELETED my FeedBurner account.
It’s a little shocking, isn’t it? I still can’t quite believe it, but it’s true! [read more]
Building a Hall Table
Today I want to share a quick post on building a hall table/console.
I’m planning on building a few of these to sell so keep your eyes and ears open and check back to see when I have some ready to sell. I’m still figuring out a price….that’s what I find the hardest in all this crafting/furniture building/sign making/tote bag customizing, etc…how much to charge for my products.
I’m hoping to have some sort of open house a few times a year to sell my products…once everything is more finalized and all the details are looked after I will let you know more…but I’ll tell you this much, I think it’s going to be really awesome! There’ll be a variety of handmade products from a few different vendors…We’re trying to keep it a little on the small side…there’s not as much organizing and planning to do…
but hopefully we can still offer a nice selection of products…think down the line of home decor… [read more]
Cherish the Simpler Things
Before I go any father, I have to share something that happened today. At the time it made my Mom and I feel QUITE disgruntled but we can I think we can laugh about it already. We made a HUGE batch of relish today…something you do in fall when your cucumbers, etc. are ripe…and everything turns out dandy…everyone samples the relish and at the end of the day everyone is also happy with stomaches full of home-made relish. Pretty normal, huh? Well, it turned out a little different…My Mom got out the pickling salt and I noticed it looked different from the pickling salt we’ve always used other years…why we didn’t look at the bag, I don’t know…but we dumped a bunch in and stirred it up. Mom tried it and said that it didn’t taste right and so I dumped a bunch more in. I stirred it up and we each tried a big teaspoon full and it tasted absolutely awful! We had to add the brine the next morning, so we knew that would help it taste more normal…at least we thought we knew. Mom all of a sudden noticed the bag sitting on the table and I heard a loud holler…oh, no!!! We found out that we had used epsom salt instead of pickling salt!
So needless to say this batch will be thrown out and we will start a new one tomorrow with all the correct ingredients this time! We also realized that the beans I had canned had this same epsom salt added, so they will also be thrown out and we will try again! I guess it’s a [read more]
Greeting Cards, a Wall Hanging and B-day Decorations
This post basically consists of photos. I have made some more cards, another wall hanging and I tried my hand at some decorations for a birthday party. I love to bake and cook but I’m NOT a cake decorator as you can tell by the icing job.
My apologies for not giving more of an explanation.
ENJOY! [read more]
