I have made some major changes to the paper which I use for my art prints. I now offer two different types of paper which you can choose from. The pricing has stayed the same but I’ve improved the quality of the paper. Now you can choose between Epson’s Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster (this replaces the regular type of paper which I used prior to this) or Epson’s Velvet Fine Art Paper.
The Velvet Fine Art Paper is approximately $5 more than the Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. I LOVE both papers. I really do! It depends what look you’re going for.
The luster paper is a semi-gloss paper and has a beautiful sheen to it. It has a nice thickness which gives it an added richness.
The velvet paper is made from 100% cotton fiber so it’s a completely different style of paper. The cotton texture gives it more of a canvas look and it also has a nice thickness as well.
I don’t think I could tell you which was my favorite. They are both beautiful and definitely give the art print an added richness to the texture. Below is Epson’s description of the paper in case you want a little bit more detail.
- Epson’s Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster – This custom art print created by Netties Expressions is printed on Epson’s Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster with an Epson Stylus Photo R2000, using pigment ink. This instant drying paper delivers highly saturated prints by offering maximum ink coverage and a high D-Max for true photographic reproductions. Its 10-mil RC base gives prints a photographic feel, and keeps the paper cockle-free. Wedding, portrait and fine-art photographers have traditionally used luster paper for their photos.
- Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper – This art is printed on Epson Velvet Fine Art Paper with an Epson Stylus Photo R2000, using pigment ink. The velvet surface is a favorite of photographers and artists alike, offering a unique museum quality feel.
