HI THERE!
My name is Jennette. I'm the person behind Netties Expressions.
“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.”
By day, I'm an accountant and tax preparer. By night, I'm a crafter and designer—often found creating on my computer or tucked away in my woodworking shop, building something that brings me joy. I’m an introvert at heart and an INFJ on the Myers-Briggs scale.
What truly fills my cup are the deep, meaningful conversations I call heart talks. Just one or two of those in a day, and I’m content. I love Jesus and hold tightly to my faith. From personal experience, I know life isn’t always easy—but I believe in miracles, grace, and the quiet beauty God has placed all around us.
Writing is my therapy, even if I do tend to ramble. Coffee is my daily companion (always over tea), and my world revolves around my beloved nieces and nephews—my “littles”—who have me completely wrapped around their fingers. I live in my dream yellow house, lovingly named Serenity Cottage.
I’m also a passionate advocate for mental health. Never, ever be ashamed to speak up or ask for help. There is hope, and there is help. Even when you can’t see the sun, it’s still shining just above the clouds.
My Story
I started Netties Expressions in 1997 at the age of 13. Looking back, it feels far too young to be running a business—but somehow, I had real customers and a growing passion. It began with custom birth announcements and printing business cards for a few local businesses. Wanting a name to attach to my creations, Netties Expressions was born.
My love for card making and design started early. I have fond memories of visiting a local scrapbooking store an hour away with my mom—an experience I treasure. I’d wander the aisles for hours, completely in my element, trying to choose the perfect supplies (and learning the difference between wants and needs!). Those mother-daughter craft store trips hold a special place in my heart.
Over the years, Netties Expressions has grown and evolved through many seasons of creativity. In 2023, I closed my retail location and returned to where it all began—selling online through my website and Etsy shop. It’s a quieter pace that allows me to focus more deeply on the handmade, heartfelt work I love most.
My mission
Netties Expressions was born from a deep desire to create something meaningful—something made with love, intention, and care that could touch the hearts of others.
One of my favorite parts of running Netties Expressions is the incredible connections I’ve made along the way. I’ve heard countless heartfelt stories from customers, and time and again, I’m deeply moved by their honesty and vulnerability. Whether it's a gift meant to bring comfort during a time of loss, or a joyful celebration of a wedding, graduation, or new baby—I'm honoured to play even a small part in those moments. These are the real reasons I do what I do.
Every product I create is handmade with love, thought, and prayer. And if you were to peek behind the scenes, you'd likely find me humming a tune while I work—matching the mood of the project. That means Christmas carols in July, Easter hymns in January, and sometimes, yes, tears in my eyes as I pour my heart into each piece.
It’s my hope that everything from Netties Expressions brings a little comfort, joy, courage, or laughter to your life—or to someone you love.
